GO/OSA Operations in Occupied
Clearwater
Scientology's covert operations
against the city of Clearwater and its citizens
"It
turned out that Scientology had come to Clearwater with a written
plan to take control of the city. Government and community
organizations were infiltrated by Scientology members. Plans were
undertaken to discredit and silence critics. A fake hit-and-run
accident was staged in 1976 to try to ruin the political career
of the mayor, Gabriel Cazares. A Scientologist infiltrated the
local newspaper and reported on the paper's plans to her
handlers."

Re: CW Sun

Dear Joe,
A report which was just received is that a week and a half ago Mark Sableman of the CW Sun had a phone message on his desk which said to call back John McKleen. Apparently he had called Sableman when he was out.
Of course immediate speculation is that this is in fact ex-SO member, John McLean. We will be able to verify this with the actual message, shortly. There is no "McKleen" in the CW phone directory or the St. Pete phone directory. Should this be the McLean on our lines then Sableman is either (a) contacted McLean and planning to do an expose we don't know about (b) contacted McLean and decided not to use his data because McLean is afraid of being sued (Sableman mentioned this earlier in a comment that someone he had contacted wouldn't allow his name being used because he was afraid of being used) or (d) Sableman hasn't contacted McLean at all.
This will be hotly pursued in the morning, and reported as we find it.
Apparently, CW Sun reporter Howard Wireback is in comm with Sableman currently regarding SCN, but on what is not known at this time. Wireback is reportedly very interested in SCN.
Entheta newscaster Bob Snyder called for Sableman this morning prior to Sableman coming into the office; it is not known whether or not Sableman returned this call.
Norm Bowles, ally, wrote into the CW Sun today and said that he had been receiving anonymous letters in the mail threatening him because he supported the C of S. Bowles also stated that dossiers were being kept on him. Consequently, Bowles listed all the information on himself out in the letter to the editor so that people no longer had to make probes of him - he was very willing to tell them who he was, where he had been and what he had done. This letter will probably appear in the CW Sun tomorrow or Sunday.
Mrs. R. Avera of xxx Emerald Lane, Largo, wrote in and said that she had just read about SCN in "Those Curious New Cults" and that it said that we used lie detectors, etc on people.
Mrs. Anne Boehrer, xxxx Sunrise Blvd, Clearwater, Florida also wrote a letter into the editor of the CW Sun. She stated that she had been doing some research in the CW library and had concluded that SCN is a "20th Century Medicine Show". That SCN was designed to trap the young and confused.
Anne Boehrer goes on to state that psychiatry is for helping people and that people in SCN need psychiatric help. She then lays in the current party line in the are "It is chilling to realize the accepted mode of operation is investigate, attack, divide and conquer!"
Anne Boehrer also notes that LRH's wife (Sara Northrup) said that he was declared mentally incompetent by competent medical advisors. Also that he was "hopelessly, incurably insane", this was take from the 1969 Parent's Magazine article (written by the Eisenberg's). Boehrer goes on to continue the attack by stating that LRH is lounging around on his ship while he reaps the organization's profits.
Boehrer then validates CW Mayor Cazares for his fight against the C of S. She says that we are crying politics against the Mayor because we are angry that his suit against us is larger than our suit against him.
Boehrer then attacks our non-profit status by stating that the non-profit status of all religious organizations should be reviewed. "People like L. Ron Hubbard who make a mockery of religion and abuse their constitutional rights, make it imperative to bring about drastic changes within this area. Others have already taken advantage of the tax shelter of religion, but in a much smaller scale".
She continues, "If this Church of Scientology is qualified for tax-exempt status, we will, in fact, be supporting this other religion as well as those pidgeons they have suckered in. I hope Mayor Cazares gives a thought to possibly looking into this aspect of our problem. He would know better than we who to approach with this suggestion".
That was it for the letter. It will appear either tomorrow or in Sunday's CW Sun. We of course will be following up on Boehrer and what her stimulation in this line really is.
Love,
[???]
